The Bonsai Society of Western Australia Inc.
The education course is designed to fast track bonsai newcomers and help them receive a grounding of the basics in bonsai, especially in Western Australia.
The basics of bonsai will be covered over the course of one day.
For the practical session you can choose to bring along your own tree to work on or have a shimpaku juniper and pot included in the ticket price. You will be mentored to create or develop your own bonsai to take home and nurture. We hope to whet your appetite for more and the love of bonsai will become a life long passion. The course is broken down into 5 sections and will cover most of the areas you need to know to get started in bonsai. Different speakers will address you in the morning and assist you in the afternoon workshop session. The course numbers are limited and are run for new members, people who need a refresher, and interested members of the public. Course Syllabus
Each student will work with a mentor who will assist with wiring, styling and potting of a tree for students to take home.
